Global Research Network

eStandardsForum supports a global research network of prominent universities and research institutes. Three types of partnerships are offered: university-based partnerships that seek to expose future business and policy leaders to the 12 Key Standards for Sound Financial Systems; research institute-based partnerships that provide more rigorous Country Reports on compliance with the Standards; and research institute-based partnerships that provide greater understanding of the Standards, their applications, and their implications through complementary reports and working papers. The specifics of each relationship-including deliverables, schedules, deadlines, guidance, and support-as agreed upon by both parties are recorded in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Universidad Anahuac del Sur is a prominent university in Mexico City, with a highly regarded Business School. Mr. Jorge Fabre, who is the dean of the Business School, is also the founder and director of the Mexican Center for Excellence in Corporate Governance (Centro de Excelencia en Gobierno Corporativo de Mexico). We began working with the Universidad Anahuac del Sur in May 2006. Our initial project involved educating students and faculty members on the 12 Key Standards for Sound Financial Systems. Subsequently, the students were offered internships in our New York office. The 12 Key Standards are taught as a module in an important Business School course. The University hosted a Public Policy Forum with government officials and regulators on April 10, 2008 to address the state of Mexico's compliance with the 12 Key Standards. Currently, the University is working on setting up a series of meetings between advanced students and the local authorities involved in issuing, regulating, and supervising the Standards. The information gathered will be used to evaluate the steps the country has taken to encourage the adoption of and enforce compliance with international standards.

CEF (Centro para la Estabilidad Financiera) an independent research institute established in Argentina in 2002, focuses on the analysis and discussion of financial services and policies. CEF is in regular contact with the financial services sector in Argentina and around the world. To access their website, click here: http://www.cefargentina.org/

In April 2007 we began partnering with CEF in order to assess the current state of Argentina's compliance with the 12 Key Standards for Sound Financial Systems. Drawing on CEF's extensive local expertise has allowed us to deepen our analysis of the Argentine economy and financial system. The CEF conducts meetings with government officials in order to have access to current and publicly available information and to encourage supervisors to issue and publish self-assessments on Argentina's compliance with the Standards. The CEF hosts a series of conferences and seminars on Insolvency, Banks Liquidity, Capital Controls, Financial Instruments, Corporate Governance, and Anti-Money Laundering Prevention to promote awareness of the 12 Key Standards.
